A look inside Beanies

Welcome to our very first ‘Behind the Beans’ blog! This is the ultimate behind-the-scenes look at Beanies HQ. During this blog, we will discuss our thoughts, processes and inspirations: it’s the biggest inside scoop we’ve given you!

March has been a busy month: Mother’s Day, April Fool’s Day planning and, most importantly, we released Salted caramel flavoured instant coffee! We will reveal to you the journey from idea to implementation.

The Launch of Salted Caramel

Salted Caramel: it’s a popular flavour. It’s popular in coffee shops, in ice cream, in popcorn, in chocolate. It’s new, fresh and tasty. We decided on this flavour as caramel is already one of our best-selling flavours, so caramel with an exciting twist was bound to intrigue customers.

The Creation

Once the flavour was confirmed, the next step of the process was the label design. We settled on a vibrant blue colour using the same font and styling for the word ‘caramel’ as on our OG caramel jar.

The next step for marketing was the fun bit: the taste test! Yes, everyone at Beanies gets to try the new flavours to sign them off as ‘good to go’ or send them back to our technical team for a rework!

Step 3: The reveal, the launch plan, the teasers. The vibe for this launch was simple and salty: Less is more. The colours and style of the teaser posts reflected the jar without giving too much away. The content was interactive and cheeky.

The Launch

The launch! 7th of March 2025: All systems go. The flavour was set live on the website, the reveal was implemented on social media, and our TikTok Live crew hosted a launch party! Brand New Salted Caramel Beanies was here! And you loved it! 146 jars sold on launch day, and it wasn’t even payday!

Can we let you in on a secret? We actually set Salted Caramel live on the 6th of March but only made customers who had signed up to our rewards scheme aware… Sneaky right?

The Risks

The biggest challenge that we face when releasing a new flavour is if it is going to be ready on time. Anything can happen! From production delays to the flavour reaching the packing facility late, we have to be prepared. We dodge these risks using teaser posts. Delayed a day? Extra teaser post! We like to keep you on the edge of your seat! Luckily for us, everything went smoothly, and no emergency teaser posts were deployed during our Salted Caramel launch.
